Welcome
to the Carland College Academic Calendar!
We base our academic calendar on three, sixteen week semesters, each divided into two, eight week minimesters. Our typical course is three semester credit hours, completed during a single minimester. We have found that this schedule provides an opportunity for an adult learner to enroll in one course at a time, master the material in that course, and yet be able to carry out the responsibilities of a working life. |

Registration for every course is handled by the Student Advisor. We refuse to require you to spend time trying to navigate some automated registration process! You and your Advisor simply discuss your program needs and the issues involved in your life outside the College, and your Advisor will help you make appropriate enrollment decisions. Then, your Advisor handles everything! If you are paying your tuition as you go, your Advisor will invoice you. If you are using a financing option, your Advisor will make arrangements for those payments. Your Adivsor will help you to complete registration by the end of the week before each minimester begins. If you need more time, your Advisor can arrange for late registration through the end of the first week of the minimester. If you need to drop a class or withdraw from a class, your Advisor will handle that, as well. Your Advisor will help you obtain books and materials and will handle all aspects of your interaction with the College. If you drop or with draw from a class during the first four weeks of the minimester, your Advisor will arrange for a full refund of your tutition. The
calendar for 2008 and 2009 is displayed in the following section.

Having
been a former student of the Carlands, I have a great appreciation for
their approach toward entrepreneurial education. The Carlands are
masters at encouraging learning and idea generation and they are aware
that learning takes place in many ways. Our classes became a
think tank where students began to take principles learned in class and
apply them to their businesses. The end result was a group of
students who enjoyed what they were learning, and this was evident both
in the quality of work and in the success of their businesses.
Finally, the Carlands provided us with a wealth of knowledge, both
academic and from practical experience. They are world renowned
entrepreneurship scholars but they are also successful practicing
entrepreneurs. This is invaluable because they are not just providing
students with entrepreneurship theory, but rather they provide students
with practical entrepreneurship expertise they have gained (with great
success) through trial and error. Without a doubt, studying with
the Carlands was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I
would highly recommend to anyone thinking of pursuing a career as an
entrepreneur to consult with them and find out how valuable this
experience can be for you. I wish you all the best…Dare to Dream!
