THE
APPLICATION PROCESS
Every applicant must complete an application package which includes a brief biography, permission to conduct a background check and an application essay. In addition, every applicant must undergo an interview with staff members, either telephonically, or via interactive video. Carland College only accepts adult learners. ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS Applicants
must present evidence of potential for success in the chosen
program. The Evaluation Committee considers
experience, education, the application essay,
and performance during the interview, to determine whether it feels
that a candidate can succeed in the program.
A Certificate student is non-degree seeking. If the student decides to pursue a degree, he or she must meet entrance requirements in place at the time of the request for a change of status. If accepted into a degree program, the student will be able to retain credit for courses successfully completed in the Certificate program. |

I decided
at age 49 to embark on an MBA, for no particular reason other than for
the educational experience. I took an introductory class in
Entrepreneurship from Jim and JoAnn Carland. One class was
all it took to hook me. This discipline is clearly more useful,
practical and engaging. The Carlands' approach to education is
refreshing, and unfortunately unique. This is truly what education
should be about....thinking, writing, and interacting.

The Carlands' entrepreneurship program gave me the tools necessary to exercise economic brain power from the Captain's seat. I was glad there was a program out there for those aspiring to be business owners versus corporate managers. Jonathan
