The ME is designed for beginner and experienced entrepreneurs.  The program will support a student's mastery of the skills, abilities and perspectives required to lead an entrepreneurial venture through the mezzanine stage, and to growth and harvest.  We expect most graduates of the ME program to become serial entrepreneurs.  Is this your dream?  Then, our mission is to help you catch it and live it!

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

Every applicant must complete an application package which includes permission to conduct a background check, letters of reference, an application essay, any required entry exams, and transcripts.  In addition, every applicant must undergo an interview with staff members, either telephonically, or via interactive video.  Carland College only accepts adult learners.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MASTER OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Applicants must present evidence of graduation from a college which has been accredited by an agency approved by the U.S. Department of Education, or its international equivalent.  Applicants who have not taken the Graduate Management Aptitude Test or the Graduate Records Exam must arrange to take one or the other and must provide scores from those exams to the College.  The Exam will be waived for applicants who hold an advanced degree.  There is no minimum score or minimum grade point average.  The Evaluation Committee considers experience, grades, exam scores, evaluation of the application essay, and performance during the interview.  The Committee weighs the various factors to determine whether it feels that a candidate is ready for graduate education.

I decided at age 49 to embark on an MBA, for no particular reason other than for the educational experience.  I took an introductory class in Entrepreneurship from Jim and  JoAnn Carland.  One class was all it took to hook me.  This discipline is clearly more useful, practical and engaging.  The Carlands' approach to education is refreshing, and unfortunately unique. This is truly what education should be about....thinking, writing, and interacting.

David Ellis, ME, MD

The Carlands' entrepreneurship program gave me the tools necessary to exercise economic brain power from the Captain's seat.  I was glad there was a program out there for those aspiring to be business owners versus corporate managers.
